The choice of medical trousers is a decision that comes back to you every time you are on duty. Let's start with the basics. Even though both models are medical trousers and both come from the same Polish factory, their character is completely different.
Medical joggers These are trousers with a cuff at the ankle, a slightly tapered leg and a sporty look taken directly from the athleisure trend. In Medek's offer, this cut is represented by the model WELT – available, among others: in a version with a cotton cuff in shades of black, chocolate, navy blue, indigo, deep rose, misty rose, candy blue or lime.
Classic medical trousers they have a simple, slightly tight-fitting cut that ends with a leg that fits freely over the shoes. This is a more formal choice, more "medical" in the traditional sense. Comfort test, or what really counts on a 12-hour shift
Comfort is a buzzword, so let's break it down.
Freedom of movement. WELT joggers, thanks to the slightly narrowed leg and ankle cuff, do not roll up when bending and do not catch on equipment in the operating theater or in the treatment room. Classic NESSA have a straight cut, which also gives you complete freedom; their close-fitting design is made of a fabric with an admixture of elastane, so they do not restrict movement even during intense work.
Thermoregulation. Here, joggers and classics play in a different league. The ankle cuff in the WELT model works like a fireplace - it retains heat, which is an advantage in winter, but can be bothersome in summer. NESSA trousers with a looser leg allow better ventilation of the foot and lower leg. Both models are made of breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics, so the material itself is not a problem - it's more about air circulation around the ankle.
Underwear and silhouette under the fabric. All our women's trousers have increased condition, which eliminates a typical problem of classic shifts - exposing your back when bending down to the patient. This applies to both WELT and NESSA.
Functionality: pockets, access, little things
A nurse or doctor carries more things than the average resident of an office building: a phone, an ID badge, pens, scissors, sometimes two stethoscopes. Pockets are not a matter of style - they are a work tool.
Both WELT and classic NESSA joggers have them front, roomy pockets designed to hold a smartphone and not let it fall out when bending down suddenly. In WELT models (joggers), the pockets are located higher - it is easier to use them in a standing position, i.e. when the nurse usually reaches for a phone or a pen. In NESSA, the arrangement of the pockets is more "classic", which is more convenient when working at a desk (reception desk, primary care office).
In both models we also have waist adjustment, which allows you to adjust the pants to your figure regardless of momentary weight fluctuations - a function that is not appreciated when purchasing, but the lack of which hurts every time you wash it at high temperature.
Hygiene and washing – an aspect that is forgotten
Medical trousers are washed frequently, intensively and usually at high temperatures. This is a real challenge that many cheaper brands will not be able to cope with after the season.
The cuff on WELT joggers is a place that requires special attention when washing - it is worth remembering to stretch it and arrange it evenly before throwing it into the washing machine. In return, you get pants that keep their shape even after hundreds of washing cycles.

Silhouette and figure type
The myth that joggers are only for the young and slim should have disappeared a long time ago. WELT with a cotton cuff fits both pear and hourglass figures - the high waist optically lengthens the legs, and the slightly tapered leg maintains the proportions. They are available in sizes from XXS to 4XL.
Classic NESSA trousers with a straight leg are better for taller people and those with an apple-shaped figure - because they do not emphasize the ankle line as much as the cuff in joggers.

Price, durability and strategy of the set
The prices of both models are similar and range from PLN 169 to PLN 219 (depending on the color and current promotions). Our rule is: you don't buy once - you buy on duty. Polish sewing, proven fabrics and refined styles mean that the trousers last much longer in intensive work than cheaper alternatives.
The strategy we recommend most often: two pairs of one model in a neutral color (e.g. NESSA navy blue and NESSA vanilla) plus one pair of the other model in a color characteristic of your department (e.g. WELT misty rose for pediatrics). Three pairs of trousers is a safe minimum - one to wear, one to wash, one to keep in the cupboard.
